Submitted by Sara Harris, Talent, Oregon: Landslide
For 12 years we have stewarded some forest land back to health, after years of neglect. Then in February, the road above collapsed in a storm, tearing a hillside out and ripping out a whole section of beautiful mature trees. Once the county crews did clean up, we are left with this big hole in the forest, and a bare hill. So we decided to scramble around, see what;’s already returning to life, and make the Rad Joy Bird out of tumbled down asphalt pieces. We promised the land that once the county finishes their work, we will replant and restore this hillside to a safe and beautiful place again!
